Lelly's October SPT Theme is the following....
"this month, we will consult our 100 lists. it's quite simple, really. on the 7th of the month. post an spt about item #7 on your list. on the 14th of the month, post an spt about item #14. and so on. and so on."

Well this SPT has forced me to do "the list". I must admit it was fun. So here is my #7.

7. I make my family crazy with Halloween, I love it more than Christmas.

My husband is a firm believer that all of your likes and dislikes, personalities, faults, abilities, etc. stem from your childhood. He never fails to link something about me back to my childhood. Well this definitely applies.
I grew up well.... I won't sugar coat it... poor. So, my sisters and I didn't have the latest and greatest in fashion trends, gadgets or toys. But on Halloween we ALWAYS had the best costumes.
Kimmy, me & Lori

My mother is a seamstress. And what a talent she is. None of those plastic costumes in a box for us. We were the real deal. Some of my most memorable costumes the three of us had were, Raggedy Anns, I Dream of Genies, Space Girls and Witches.

Scary Mary

To this day Halloween is a special time in my home. The house is decorated inside and out. Costumes are planned months ahead. We attend every Halloween carnival and church activity available. Then there is the big adult party, where everyone lets their hair down, disguised as someone else. I have an arsenal of costumes, so my house becomes the local costume shop for all ages. Not to mention the makeup monsters in and out of the house. It's like a 2 week event here. My husband is a Halloween Scrooge. He says that no person should have to endure a holiday for months, as we usually start in August.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

My husband loves Halloween too. Since we married I've tried to sew our kids costumes every year, but sometimes they wait too long to decide what they want to be. I'm liking Halloween more and more every year.

love the photos!! we always made our costumes, too. imagine my chagrin last night, when my 7 year old announced his plan for halloween, and he was so excited that the costume was "buyable." ?!?

I enjoy Halloween, but not THAT much I don't think. My dad is not a big Halloween fan so we didn't get into too much as a kid. I am starting to enjoy it more as an adult now and can't wait to share it with my own kids!

I love that you are so crazy about Halloween. It's a great holiday to showcase your talents. Wish we lived close enough to participate in all of the fun!

I love all the decorations for Halloween but when I really think about what we do on that holiday it is really silly. Kids go around begging for candy from strangers..a bit weird!

I love it! Why can I see Mike being like that?? He probably had enough scary stuff to last a life time at the video stores for so freaking long!! I sure remember Crazies coming in there...
Anyhow- I love the costumes & that you are so good at the costume ideas.. Any ideas for a 8 & almost 11 yr old boy that don't want to look childish?
I would of went running if I'd seen ya all scary witched out!

We love Halloween too -- the decorations, the costumes, the parties -- and picking out the costume {and changing your mind several times} is 1/2 the fun! (My b'day is Nov. 1st, so growing up Halloween was always my favorite holiday!)

Fun. I never was really into Halloween- the whole thing was one night in our family- from finding a costume by scrounging, to eating all the candy in one night. Nauseating really! You guys look great though and it looks like a lot of fun.
