Do What You Love... Diary of a Makeup Artist Entry #8

Have you ever heard this... "Do what you love for a living and the money will follow."  I don't know where I got this from, but I heard it somewhere a long time ago.  When asked "What do you do for a living?"  I've always joked... play Barbies!

Meet my Barbie!

This is Theresa K. one of my favorite model friends.  We played together like good little girls.   Today we did a fashion shoot for Luxury Las Vegas magazine celebrating Barbie's 50th birthday.  I got to turn her into Chanel Barbie, 60's Barbie, Malibu Barbie, Birthday Barbie and finally Princess Barbie.

Here are a few sneak peeks from my snapper.

Not only does Theresa make an awesome live Barbie doll, she is a very very wonderful person.  She is so sweet, sensitive, genuine and loving.  Working with her is just like play, not work.
On a side note, another highlight of my day was shooting in Baumann's Rare Books.  And this is what I got to hold in my hands.

This is a first edition Gone With the Wind.  Oh man!  I was freaking out!  I literally wanted to cry, I LOVE books, I love that they represent, enjoyment, escape, learning and the talent of one who has something to share with the world.  It gives me chills when I see a book that has been passed down through time.  This one was only $4000 dollars!  "Chump Change" Rachelle (my best friend who also loves books) called it as I frantically sent her a text to tell her what I was holding.

Take care of your first edition Twilight books girls, your posterity will appreciate it.
Honestly in recent years I have dreamt of being a librarian or even better a professional Bibliophile.
What do you think?  Barbie girl or librarian?

Holy glamour! She looks beautiful--I'm so impressed with your talent!

Regarding barbie vs. librarian...If you moved to my town, you could be both--our librarians could use a bit of "barbie-ing up"--and I'm sure they'd keep you on staff!
It would be a win win!

Very glamorous! Love the photos!
From a girl who has played with a lot of Barbies - Lucky you!!! How fun! I'll have to keep my eye out for that issue.

You would make an awesome librarian. You could liven the place up a little.
