Grim Grinning Ghosts

YES! It's that time of year again, the time of year that I relish in my deep seeded childhood that I cant let go of. Growing up in the 80's was kinda tough when your family didnt have much cashola, so needless to say my sisters and i didnt have the latest fashions like the other cool girls. I didn't have the "Gag Me With a Spoon" T-Shirt or the Guess Jeans. But since my mom is a seamstress when October came around, we knew were were gonna Rock You Like a Hurricane! Halloween is afoot my friends and that means Mary RC goes nuts with the decorations, (which you can see here, they haven't changed much) costumes and most of all the Halloween Bash.

Things are a little different this year, and sadly in some ways. The Halloween Bash in the past 4 years has been hosted by 3 couples. One couple is out this year, the Tobler's. We'll miss them tons. And we don't have a super special invite either this year, we used some old pics and doctored them up. With Mike working in California we couldn't line up the 4 of us and a photographer in time. Before I knew it, WHAM the invite was over due.. But this will suffice. And I must add that my friend Jessica from Without a Place and her hubby Chris, are helping us out this year. Were hoping they can recruit some new blood for the party.

Here are some invitations from the past..

This was our Guess Who's Coming Invite from 2006

Next we have out Haunted Mansion Invite with the guys as the hitchhiking ghosts.

And last year's, which is my favorite, three girls as the Hocus Pocus sisters..

Now I just have to figure out what the heck Mike and I are gonna be this year. I was thinking John Lennon and Yoko Ono would be funny, long frizzy wigs, pajamas, peace signs maybe a beard for Mike.

But I'm afraid Yoko looks too much like The Grudge, and I hate it when people don't know what or who I'm supposed to be. Last year NO ONE knew who I was, I was Lydia from Beetlejuice, Mike was Beetlejuice. Nobody got it. :(

Maybe it was because my spiked bangs fell off..

Any suggestions?

Oh, I am so jealous! Adult Halloween parties are the BEST! We always help my sister who usually does a very cool haunted garage - it's a pirate them this year. My family plans to go (not to the pirate thing, of course - for that we'll be pirates) as Alices. My youngest will be Alice in Wonderland, hubs will be Alice Cooper, I'll be Alice from the Brady Bunch (looking forward to those orthopedic shoes)and my eldest will be Alice in Chains. We can't wait!
With all the zombie and vampire movies around you are going to have a blast picking what to do. I saw Zombieland and loved it although the zombies were frightening~! Maybe Count Chocula? HAHAHA.

How fun!
Next to the Super Bowl Party, Halloween was always my favorite...
It has been a couple of years now...wish I was closer because I would love to play!

That is seriously the COOLEST thing I've ever seen!!! those invites rock!!! Wow, i'm so impressed! That sucks that the other couple is out, but it sounds like you've got plenty of other people involved. I would love to have a spooky fun halloween party one day, if/when that happens, I'll be coming to you for advice:)good luck with the fun planning and partying!!

This is another reason that I hate living so far away from my peeps. No Halloween party. I do have to dress up for the kiddo party at work and have no brilliant ideas.

Wow I never really "dressed" up for Halloween and I'm impress at how celebrated it is with you. I wish I had a cool group that does the same thing you do. What about Freddie Krueger and Barbie doll?
So you're a Halloween person! I love those parties, but I never know what to dress up as.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

It's hard thinking of good costumes. We're being boring this year, think the hubby and i are just going to be a vampire couple. Vampires are BiG this year, right? Works for me! I love the Hocus Pocus idea, bet that was cute. What about Fred and Wilma or Danny and Sandy or Lucy and Ricky?... just some ideas.

HOW in the world did they not get Beetlejuice and the chick? I wouldn't have known her name, since I'm not that familiar with the movie, but seriously.....! GREAT costumes. I hope you have fun, whatever you decide! I'm terrible with costumes,we do store bought. :( In '07 Hubs was a monk and I was a pregnant nun. Stopping by from SITS roll call. Happy Tuesday!

Once again, as I say every year, I wish we could be there!
Whoa, you are such a more prettier Lydia than the real thing. She's quite creepy-looking. And I don't think I've ever seen that picture of me & Chris!!! Yoko & John is a great idea, but some people might not get it if you are not standing next to your John. Hmm.... I need a costume brainstorming session.... We are lacking creativity over here. I actually told Chris he should go as a college graduate. I'll still got my cap & gown from high school.
